The film is set in 1945 just after WWII. Commander of the Allied power thrusts repsonisbility of i
investigating the role of Japanese emperor in the war to General Fellers. General Fellers is in love
with a japanese girl Aya, he simultaneously searches her whereabouts with his japanese driver.
During the investigation Fellers hits roadblock at every juncture but his understanding of Japan and
Japanese people (due to time spent with Aya and her uncle) shows him the way.
Normally when we speak of WWII and Japan the only visuals come to mind is destruction and mushroom cloud
caused due to atom bomb. But the movie fails to show destruction. There are only few shots where one
sees ravaged buildings, helpless people, etc. Most of the time the architecture or to an extent people
bears no scars of war.
